1. WINDOW REMOVAL, INSTALLATION & FRAMING 1.1 Remove and Install 8 Windows Remove eight (8) existing windows, including interior trim, exterior trim, sash, and hardware. Install eight (8) new replacement windows provided by Village of Park Forest. Install sill pan flashing or approved membrane in every opening. Install drip cap flashing above exterior casing. Insulate around perimeter with low-expansion foam. Install new interior casing and exterior trim as needed for a complete finish. 1.2 Frame Living Room Window Opening (105” x 36”) Frame opening to 105" width × 36" height using: o Appropriately sized engineered LVL or double 2x10 headers (contractor to verify load). o Double jack studs and king studs. o Sill, cripple studs, and rough opening bracing. Ensure opening is level, plumb, and square to receive manufacturer’s rough-open requirements. Replace any compromised sheathing around the opening. 2. INTERIOR WALL FRAMING & LAYOUT MODIFICATIONS 2.1 Frame New Hallway in Middle Bedroom (Per Architect’s Drawing) Install a new framed wall to create a dedicated hallway. Wall construction: o 2x4 studs at 16" OC o Pressure-treated bottom plate where required o Double top plates o Blocking where needed Install rough framing for a new bedroom door, complete with properly sized header. 2.2 Demolish Section of Existing Load-Bearing Wall (Middle Bedroom → Family Room) Remove the section of wall as shown in architectural drawings. Provide temporary shoring to support structural loads during removal. Integrate new structural supports (post, beam, or LVL header as required). All load-bearing modifications must comply with IRC Section R602.
