City of Chicago Department of Public Health RFP Outreach PlayStreets Implementation Grants: South Region (RFP# 57073) and West Region (RFP# 58155) The City of Chicago (City), through the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) looks to partner with two delegate agencies to recruit and train 34 community-based organizations to collectively host 170 PlayStreets activations per season, engaging a minimum of 42,000 children and families across Chicago's South & West region. The PlayStreets program serves as a chronic disease prevention and healthy living initiative that provides opportunity for physical activities, promotes community safety, and reduces violence by closing streets to create safe, active spaces for residents. PlayStreets also fosters mental health by building social connections, strengthening neighborhood ties, and offering access to health resources, including mental health services. To ensure its impact is aligned with these priorities, CDPH uses metrics related to chronic disease, violence, and mental health to determine where PlayStreets is implemented.
