1. Soils and Earthwork Testing • Review geotechnical report and verify soil classifications. • Observe and test subgrade preparation and proof-rolling. • Perform field density and moisture testing (ASTM D1556, D6938). • Verify fill and backfill compaction (ASTM D698/D1557). • Document subgrade acceptance prior to concrete placement. 2. Foundations and Cast-in-Place Concrete • Inspect footing excavation, formwork, reinforcement placement, and embeds. • Sample and test fresh concrete for slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight (ASTM C143, C231, C1064). • Fabricate, cure, and test concrete cylinders for compressive strength (ASTM C31, C39). • Observe placement, vibration, and curing procedures. • Verify anchor bolt installation and column base alignment. 3. Structural Steel and Welding • Inspect fabricated members for conformance with AISC/AWS standards. • Verify bolt torque and tension testing for high-strength bolts (ASTM F3125, RCSC Specification). • Provide certified welding inspection (CWI) of shop and field welds per AWS D1.1. • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) as required (UT, MT, PT). 4. Post-Tensioning and Reinforcing Steel • Inspect placement and spacing of reinforcement. • Verify post-tensioning cables, stressing sequence, elongation, and grouting operations. • Document all tendon stressing operations and test records. 5. Masonry Construction • Inspect masonry units, mortar, grout, and reinforcement. • Sample and test prisms and grout as required by ASTM C780 and C1314. • Observe construction to ensure compliance with ACI 530/ASCE 5 and TMS 402.
