The following key tasks constitute the proposed project: 1. Kickoff& Meetings: Conduct monthly meetings with key staff from both Lexington and the consultant to ensure the project remains on budget and on schedule. Meetings should provide valuable opportunities to review project progress and strategize for upcoming events and tasks. 2. Public Outreach & Engagement: Host community engagement meetings and interviews throughout the planning process to gather insights that will inform the overarching goals of the UFMP. Consultant should develop a tailored survey to engage residents in the planning process. The Town anticipates up to four (4) community engagement meetings. The meeting format should allow both in-person and virtual options to allow for broad participation. 3. Forestry Program Evaluation: Analyze Lexington’s existing tree inventory and canopy assessment data to inform UFMP goals and future actions, as well as conduct a review of forestry program operations, review relevant policies and plans, and assess Lexington’s current program status and future goals using the Indicators of a Sustainable Urban Forest. 4. Master Plan Development: Synthesize information gathered from earlier tasks to outline and draft a comprehensive urban forest master and management plan for the Town of Lexington. Once a draft is complete, consultant will seek input and recommendations from staff and the public to further strengthen the plan. 5. Plan Finalization & Presentation: Consultant incorporate revisions and will finalize the urban forest master and management plan. Consultant’s project team will present the plan to the Select Board for approval and adoption.
