The scope of work for this contract will be for the cleaning of glass to remove remaining whitewash and the reapplication of a new coat of whitewash per drawings and specifications. A. Site Preparation, Site Safety and Access 1. Provide a boom lift appropriate for access to the work areas. Include delivery, pick-up and rent for duration of the work. 2. Electric boom lifts strongly preferred in alleyways along greenhouses. 3. Provide 1” plywood protection when using or moving boom lift on grass 4. Provide safety barricade around boom lift and overhead work areas 5. Perform mock – up of cleaning and whitewashing procedure at the start of work by the team. B. Cleaning of Exterior Glazing: 1. Clean glazing on exterior using water and gentle hand scrubbing. Use natural or synthetic fiber bristle brush, non-abrasive pad, and/or fine-to-medium grit sanding sponge. Do not apply water using pressure washer. Use of pressure washer is not acceptable. 2. Apply Reduclean dilution per manufacturers instructions. Ensure staff and visitors inside the building are protected from exposure to Reduclean. Apply and rinse area to be cleaned before building opens to the public, stanchion areas inside the building below application area to prevent staff exposure. Use garden hose to apply water. Conduct cleaning carefully to ensure silicone joints and extrusions over arches and muntins are not damaged. 3. Clean off residue thoroughly, complying with manufacturer’s directions. C. Application of the whitewash 1. Use Redusol Greenhouse Shading Compound.,or approved equal. 2. Ensure glass is warm and dry enough for good adhesion. 4. Apply whitewash at the dilution and coverage specified by the owner’s representative. This may vary at different locations of the building. 5. Stage cleaning and whitewash application such that no area of glass is clear for more than 24 hours 6. Coordinate closing of ventilation windows to ensure whitewash does not enter the building during whitewash application 7. Ensure a smooth, even application with no drips, spots or runs
