SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Mental Health (OMH) is looking to obtain quotes for SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment). SBIRT is an evidence-based practice that is based on motivational interviewing principals and identifies individuals who may be using alcohol or illicit drugs/prescription medications in ways harmful to their health. The SBIRT approach supports people who are at-risk through the process of making healthy lifestyle changes related to their alcohol and/or drug use. Connect individuals with substance dependence to treatment and health services, using SBIRT as an early intervention. This training will provide an overview of the process and leave the participant with the working knowledge on how to perform an SBIRT intervention. The training will be provided virtually for one day with twenty-four (24) participants.
