Coroner Training: Investigating Completed In-Custody Suicides – a training program that provides comprehensive instruction on the best practices for investigating in-custody suicides, focusing on early detection, scene response, evidence preservation, interagency collaboration, and postmortem analysis. This training will be designed for coroners, correctional officers, medical staff, administrators, and death investigators. The course will aim to ensure that every in-custody suicide is treated with professional integrity, documented thoroughly, and investigated in a manner that withstands public, legal, and regulatory scrutiny. Training will include the development of the course, Continuing Education Credits, training materials, resources, case-based scenario exercises, pre- and post-assessment tools, and consultation calls. OMH Would prefer training to be done in a hybrid fashion, both in person and virtually and up to 100 participants.
