BODY WORN CAMERA (BWC) REQUIREMENTS GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The BWC must be a standalone, tamper-proof unit with no external wiring required. The BWC must support operation for at least 13 hours. The BWC must include multiple mounting options without requiring uniform modifications. The battery capacity must be 4300 mAh rechargeable Li-Ion polymer. VIDEO AND AUDIO The BWC must support 1440p, 1080p, 720p, and 480p video recording resolutions. The BWC must have a configurable diagonal field of view of 160° or 120°. The camera must support dual-channel audio recording with four built-in microphones. The BWC must automatically adjust for low-light conditions (≤ 0.1 lux). The BWC must provide 128 GB video storage capacity CONNECTIVITY AND REAL-TIME OPERATIONS The BWC must support Wi-Fi (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.0 for fast data transfer. The device must support GNSS-based location tracking (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo). The BWC must support live video streaming to command staff in emergencies. SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE The BWC must provide AES-256 full disk encryption for data at rest and in transit. The BWC must prevent on-device deletion of recordings. The BWC must have a configurable pre-event buffer of 0-120 seconds. The BWC must support Video Recall for up to 18 hours, if enabled by the agency. DURABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL The BWC must meet MIL-STD-810G for drop resistance and IP68 for ingress protection. The BWC must function in -4°F to 122°F operating temperatures.
