These specifications/scope of services are intended to be primarily goal-oriented versus prescriptive in nature. Bidders shall describe their approach to provide forest opening mowing. The successful contractor is expected to mow all vegetation within 145 designated forest openings and the designated access trails (approximately 25 miles) leading to the openings (see Appendix B). All bids must be submitted on the supplied bid form along with a bond and list of references. Openings Mowing Specifications: Cut all vegetation within the designated opening including grasses, forbs, berry brush and woody stems up to 4 inch stump diameter. Mow all vegetation to approximately 6 inches from the ground. Openings total approximately 105 acres. Access Trail Mowing Specifications: Length of access trails requiring mowing is approximately 25 miles. Cut all vegetation in access trails to approximately 15 feet wide (where possible) including grasses, forbs, berry brush and woody stems up to 4 inch stump diameter. Trail mowing area equals approximately 45 acres.
