Bids are solicited for furnishing traffic control signs in the specific dimensions listed in Exhibit A and are to be constructed in conformance to Whatcom County specifications. Except as amended here, all material must be in accordance with the latest edition of the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction (Standard Specifications), as published by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Any reference to the State of Washington or to an officer thereof will be construed to mean Whatcom County or the appropriate equivalent official of Whatcom County. All material supplied must conform to the appropriate specifications required by the Standard Specifications with the following supplemental specifications. Traffic control signs must be manufactured in accordance with the best commercial practices and standards. BRANDS Any brand specified herein is solely for the purpose of indicating the standard of quality and performance for the intended use. Other brands of equal quality, performance, and use will be considered, provided the bidder specifies the brand and other data necessary for comparison in their bid. Whatcom County will be the sole judge for approving other brands offered as equals to the brand specified. TYPES OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS The County intends to use the following types of traffic control signs with faces along with sign posts during the coming year: • Aluminum Blanks, Bare • Aluminum Signs, Microprismatic Retroflective • Sign Faces • Square Tube Sign Post System • Flashing LED Signs with Microprismatic Retroreflective • Other traffic control items described in Section F Unless otherwise specified, all traffic control signs must: • Be flat without warps or bends. • Be constructed of 6061-T6 or 5052-H38 alloy with Alodine protective coating. • Have radius corners and pre-drilled 3/8” holes.
