Delta County School District 50J is seeking to enhance the appearance and safety of the front entrance and upgrade the HVAC system for A Wing at the Paonia K-8 school location in Paonia, Colorado. This renovation will improve the security and functionality of the school. Delta County School District has partnered with Wember as the owner representative, RTA as the architect, and Bighorn Consulting as the MEP Engineers. This project is scheduled to begin at the end of May of 2026, with the front entrance required to be completed during the summer break. The new entry will include a new storefront, the renovation of an existing classroom into the admin area, and an upgrade of MEP systems as necessary. The A-Wing upgrade includes new HVAC units, fire suppression systems, acoustic ceilings, and a structure to support the HVAC equipment on the roof. The school district has also included an alternative to move the HVAC units to the ground. Depending on the lead times for the HVAC units, the school district would like to have, at a minimum, the infrastructure for the new units completed by August 17th. This will enable the units to be installed during school hours.
