FOCUS OF SUPPORT • Provide training and training materials for SES leaders/staff to enable successful implementation of the regional support model beginning June 2026. • Reduce and/or eliminate disproportionality in the identification and discipline of special education students in WCPSS. • Develop a professional development plan for teachers and SES staff and facilitate the transition of that plan and training system to a new Senior Administrator (estimated Spring 2026). PROJECT MANAGEMENT • Establish project timeline and milestones to measure and report progress to the Assistant Superintendent for SES. ○ Develop cadence of meetings for project management (SES leadership). ○ Establish regular design and feedback sessions to inform training material scope and sequence, curriculum coherence, and audience needs including using SES specific practices, language and norms (using SES technical expertise). ○ Reflect WCPSS practices and processes, compliance requirements, and policy direction for improving outcomes for students with disabilities. ● Use talent mapping and known areas of expertise of SES staff as identified in the emergent skills matrix to ○ Leverage expertise in co-design of training materials and sessions, and ○ Center the in-house expertise across SES staff in training and materials. ● Develop a training plan and coordinate the organization of existing WCPSS curriculum assets to facilitate the development of the training materials (see Training section). ● Review and ensure compliance with federal direction and findings of disproportionality related to Coordinated Early Intervention Services (CEIS). TRAINING ● All training services include: ○ Development of all training/course materials to include facilitation guides, slide decks, curriculum activities, etc. ○ Capacity building for WCPSS facilitators for ongoing training of courses. ○ Development of an aligned digital course for sustainability, training new staff, and continuous improvement/adaptation. ○ Transmission of training materials for WCPSS’ adult learning management system (Canvas). ● Provide training for 3 groups of SES-related WCPSS staff, connected to CEIS, disproportionality findings and continued implementation of a regional model that will 2 improve SES processes and reduce disproportionality: SES staff, Instructional Assistants, and Special Education Teachers.
