The selected proposer will be required to provide WEOC with asbestos handler training in all requested services as necessary and required by federal and state regulation to obtain NYS Asbestos Handler Certification for referred students enrolled at WEOC as more fully described below: The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC) offers Workforce Training Programs such as Asbestos Handler which prepares students to meet the requirements to take the state certification to obtain work in the related field of study. Students referred to asbestos handler training must receive appropriate classroom instruction to ensure success in obtaining licensing per federal and state regulations for Asbestos Handler Certification. The successful proposer selected to provide the asbestos handler education will deliver training on site at WEOC in all requested services. Prior to training, the vendor will meet with the WEOC Academic Affairs Assistant Dean to review lecture schedules and classroom policies. The vendor will attend new student orientations during which time they will introduce themselves to students, explain how the training will take place, provide instructional materials to each student, and make arrangements, in coordination with WEOC’s Academic Affairs Assistant Dean (or designee) to submit the New York State Asbestos Handler application. The WEOC Asbestos Handler tracking sheet/roster must be used to maintain accurate attendance records for each student which must be signed by the student acknowledging that the instruction was received. The signed tracking sheets/rosters are required to be submitted to WEOC’s Academic Affairs office, as documentation in support of invoices. The vendor will provide requested services as designated by the schedule created by WEOC. Classes could be scheduled day or evening.
