Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC) is seeking contractors to provide animal care medical services, including but not limited to spay/neuter surgery, examinations, diagnostics, hospitalization, and outpatient care. Selected vendor(s) may provide some or all of these services based on their capabilities and the needs of MACC and the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD). Veterinary services may extend beyond the listed scope, subject to prior approval by MACC. If applicable, services for MNPD's K-9 Unit may also extend beyond the listed scope and will require prior approval from MNPD before work begins. Veterinary clinics must provide an estimate for services as requested by MACC. MACC will approve the diagnostic/treatment plan and coordinate scheduling for each case with the vendor on a per-case basis. Treated animals may include shelter animals, MNPD K-9s, and privately owned animals through MACC's Safety Net program. A MACC representative will initiate case referrals, review estimates, and approve charges before any procedures are performed. All services must be performed at facilities provided by the contractor. If transportation is required, Metro is willing to pay a round-trip transportation fee not to exceed $20.00 per occurrence. All transport must be coordinated and scheduled with MACC during normal business hours.
