The City of North Augusta (CONA) intends to contract for the annual services of an experienced contractor to supply and install approximately 1300 yards of double ground dyed brown hardwood mulch in landscape beds and tree rings within our City Parks, Beautification Areas, City Buildings, Downtown Streetscapes, and Greenway. The work to be performed under this contract will be determined and assigned by the CONA Superintendent of Property Maintenance by a map of the job sites to be mulched. A. General 1. CONA shall set forth the work to be done via a list of jobsites and may choose to have CONA representatives present during the work. Contractor shall furnish all necessary insurance, permits, licenses, transportation, materials, supplies, apparatus, equipment, personnel, labor, supervision, project manager, expertise, and all things necessary to perform the mulch installation operation and include all such in prices. Prices shall include all setting up, demobilization, trip charges, removal charges, safety work zone signs, traffic control and all necessary equipment to perform the mulch installation work safely. B. Mulch Installation Specifications: 1. Mulch shall be installed at a minimum depth of 3 Inches in all landscape beds. 2. Keep mulch at least 4 inches away from the trunk of all trees 3. There shall be NO Volcano Mulching! 4. If mulch is piled against the trunk, expose the base of the trunk by pulling back the mulch several inches before adding a fresh layer of mulch for color. 5. Blown in mulch shall be spread uniformly across the landscape beds so as not to leave piles of mulch throughout the landscape beds. 6. All tree ring shall receive no more than 2” of mulch.
