The scope of this project is defined by the Contract Documents, including Division 1 Specifications and Drawings, and consists of the following: The project involves repairing or replacing selected areas of the existing Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) cladding, brick or masonry walls, interior finishes, as well as cold-formed metal framing and steel angles, to accommodate installation of new fenestration systems. New air and water-resistive barrier and flashings shall be installed as required to create a proper termination at the fenestration perimeters. Existing window and door systems shall be removed and replaced with new aluminum-framed storefronts and entrances at all building elevations, as well as new glazed aluminum curtain wall systems at certain areas, designed to meet the wind pressures required by authority having jurisdiction. The new fenestration systems are high thermal performance products and equipped with 1-inch insulated glazing units rated in accordance with the applicable code requirements. These improvements will result in fenestration systems that comply with currently adopted local building codes, energy codes, enhance energy performance, and mitigate current water infiltration issues of existing fenestration systems. The building’s appearance will remain consistent with its existing architectural character.
