The Metropolitan Court administers a Competency Court for its criminal cases when competency has been raised. Recently, the Metropolitan Court was selected by the Administrative Office of the Courts (“AOC”) to be a site for a Competency Diversion Pilot Project. As part of its selection to be a site for a Competency Diversion Pilot Project, the Metropolitan Court has been awarded funding for Fiscal Year 2026 (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026) of up to One Hundred Fifty-Four Thousand Dollars ($154,000.00), including applicable gross receipts taxesfor Community Navigation Services to be provided by a qualified behavioral health treatment provider. The Community Navigation Services that the Court is seeking through this RFP will include the provision of non-clinical professional and specialized support services to defendants who have been identified by the Court as being eligible for participation in its Competency Diversion Pilot Project (“Participants”) and who are referred by the Court to the behavioral health treatment provider that is selected by the Court under this RFP for an award of a contract. The Community Navigation Services that the Court is seeking also will assist Participants with successfully navigating the intersections between the criminal justice, behavioral health, and social service systems.
