Preparation & Setup • Protect surrounding area to avoid damage during installation • Remove any necessary trim or obstructions • Prepare surfaces for attachment of pearling’s • Maintain the historic integrity of the building during all phases of the project 2. Perling’s Installation • Install vertical Perling’s securely over existing log siding at 16” spacing • Install house around entire elevations of cabin and tape seams • Ensure proper spacing and fastening for long term durability 3. Cedar Lap Siding • Install 8” wide cedar lap siding on all area except the gables • Ensure each course is properly overlapped and aligned for a uniform appearance • Fasten siding per manufacturer’s recommendations for exterior cedar lap siding • Maintain consistent reveals and seals all cut edges for moisture protection 4. Board & Batten • Install 12” wide cedar board and batten siding in gables • Maintain consistent layout, alignment, and spacing of battens • Fasten per manufacturer’s recommendations for exterior cedar siding 5. Band Board Installation • Install horizonal band board in gables • Ensure level placement and clean finish transitions to siding 6. Windows & Doors • Reinstall existing doors & shutters on windows • Secure shutters with proper fasteners and alignment • Replace existing flashing above windows and doors
