PURCHASE DESCRIPTION: NDDOT intends to enter into a one (1) year contract, with four (4) 12-month renewal options to receive services to heat straighten damaged structural steel beams under, above or on bridge decks throughout the State of North Dakota. Bridge hits are a recurring problem, and many times cause damage to critical structural steel members that need to be repaired to maintain the integrity of the structure and to protect the public. Most incidents can be repaired through a heat straightening process. Heat straightening of structural steel is very specialized, and it is essential that the NDDOT have the ability to procure timely services to have necessary repairs made to structures to prevent the potential for a partial or complete bridge failure. Due to concerns for public safety and the urgency associated with potential shutdowns of damaged bridges, response time and scheduling is critical.
