The Cortland County Health Department’s Tobacco Free Zone program is offering a potential funding opportunity to local organizations to serve populations most impacted by the negative outcomes of the tobacco industry. With guidance from Tobacco Free Zone staff, the recipient(s) will lead and facilitate community engagement work on one or more of the following initiatives: smoke-free multi-unit housing, tobacco product waste, retail environment, and/or tobacco-free outdoor areas. All proposed work must address health disparities related to tobacco use and exposure in multi-unit housing, tobacco product waste in the environment, tobacco sales and marketing in the retail environment, and/or tobacco use and exposure in outdoor spaces within Cortland, Tompkins, and/or Chenango Counties.
