Current stand conditions are the result of the Goosmus Fire in 2024 and a subsequent salvage harvest. Reforestation shall occur to re-establish trees per acre and canopy cover, as well as support other ecosystem services such as water retention, reduce runoff/erosion, wildlife habitat, and biodiversity. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: • Where natural seedlings are established and >1’, no seedlings shall be planted. • Seedlings shall be planted 12’ off of healthy, vigorous crop trees. • Seedlings shall be planted 100’ off of Aspen clones. • Seedling shall be planted 25’ off of slash piles and log decks. • Microsites shall be considered while planting trees. i.e. when possible, trees shall be planted on the NW side of forest material such as but not limited to rocks, stumps, and logs. • Any seedlings left over shall be planted in overflow Unit 3 and 4. • When all plantable spots in the Unit(s) have been exhausted, planters will move to the overflow planting area.
