The work for Contract 4 is located in the Town of Canton, Massachusetts; and includes replacement of approximately 6,400 feet of 10-inch water pipe in Sherman Street (from Beaumont St to Pleasant St) with new 8-inch pipe, replacement of approximately 450 feet of 6-inch water pipe in Sanford St (from Sherman St to the end of Sanford Rd) with new 8-inch pipe, replacement of approximately 160 feet of 8-inch water pipe in Dewitt Ave (from Sanford St to the end of Dewitt Ave) with new 8-inch pipe, , replacement of approximately 1,010 feet of 6-inch water pipe in Fuller St (from Sunnyside Ave to Neponset St) with new 8-inch pipe, replacement of approximately 575 feet of 6-inch water pipe in Mountain Ave (from Hillside St to Fuller St) with new 8-inch pipe, replacement of approximately 275 feet of 6-inch water pipe in Hillside St (from Mountain Ave to Sunnyside Ave) with new 8-inch pipe, replacement of approximately 575 feet of 6-inch water pipe in Sunnyside Ave (from Hillside St to Fuller St) with new 8-inch pipe, and replacement of approximately 525 feet of 6-inch water pipe in Riverview Rd (from Hillside St to the end of Riverview Rd) with new 8-inch pipe. The new water main work will also include new hydrants and new services. There are 3 locations with potential contaminated soils; soil protection, soil storing, testing, and disposal are also a part of this work. Locations with a potential for contaminated soil are 1 Beaumont Street, 782 Washington Street, and between 311 Sherman Street and 319 Sherman Street. Surface restoration work includes temporary and permanent trench patching on all streets. Sidewalks, curbs, driveways, yard features, and grass areas will be restored in-kind. The project also includes temporary by-passing piping and services on all project streets.
