The Consultant shall provide engineering and other design services as needed in support of the design and development of transportation facilities including highway construction, maintenance and operational support for the Department under limited supervision and on an “On-Call” basis. The Scope of Work for various Project Task Orders may include, but not limited to the following: A. Provide engineering services for projects containing bridges and other highway structures. B. Prepare conceptual designs, alternatives and reports. C. Perform field surveys and preparation of field database. D. Prepare plans, specifications and contract documents, in accordance with the Department’s Plan Development Process (PDP), to be used for letting, award and construction including: 1. Preliminary roadway plans. 2. Preliminary bridge plans. 3. Bridge hydraulic and hydrological studies. 4. Final roadway plans. 5. Final Bridge Plans. E. Prepare Environmental Studies and Environmental Documents. F. Provide Geotechnical services, including: 1. Bridge Foundation Investigations. 2. Wall Foundation Investigations. G. Perform quality control/quality conformance reviews of structural plans in accordance with GDOT Bridge Manual and Bridge Office practices. H. Provide construction services on behalf of the Bridge Office, including: 1. Shop drawing review. 2. Review and response to RFIs and NCRs. 3. Administrative services for coordinating the documents above with field personnel. I. Provide management of project schedules. J. Perform other professional services including the following: 1. Development of programmatic bridge replacement and rehabilitation strategies. 2. Development of design guidelines and policies. 3. General technical expertise. K. Provide Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations.
