The City proposes to contract ("Collection Contract"), for a period commencing on January 1, 2026, for curbside/alley collection of refuse, yard waste and recyclable materials. The contract shall include all single-family, attached single-family and multi-family dwellings with three (3) or less units (i.e. households), which currently receive curbside/alley refuse collection under the current contract (approximately 7,000 households). The Collection Contract shall not include multi-family properties over three (3) units serviced by centralized dumpsters or commercial, industrial or institutional properties, or temporary and permitted dumpsters. See Request for Proposal for detailed requirements. In addition, an alternate proposal, still including all the same requested curbside/alley collection of refuse and yard waste, but subject to the elimination of the curbside/alley collection of recyclable materials. The alternate proposal will include a centralized community approach to recyclable materials by utilizing three (3) designated City owed sites for the collection of recyclable materials. Each proposal shall be received in a sealed envelope and clearly labeled "Proposal for Residential Solid Waste, Yard Waste and Recycling Collection and Disposal Service". Any proposal not received by the posted date and time shall be rejected.
