Provide an annual core training program designed for health system partner/fundraiser pairs, along with other trainings selected on an annual basis in response to current needs. Training details and objectives are outlined below: Core Training Program Annual training program for health system partner/fundraiser pairs (two cohorts) Purpose: provide partners with a better understanding of their role in philanthropy at UW Medicine and introduce tools to facilitate the process Objectives: clarity and efficiency in how and when partners engage with donors; build mutual respect and collaboration between fundraisers and partners that results in increased closed gifts Additional Training Selected Annually Customized training for health system partner/fundraiser pairs. Purpose: similar to the core training program but content is tailored for specific partner groups as needed, e.g., faculty leaders, hospital administrators, and biomedical researchers, etc. Objectives: clarity and efficiency in how and when partners engage with donors; build mutual respect and collaboration between fundraisers and partners that results in increased closed gifts Ad-hoc coaching calls for health system partner/fundraiser pairs Purpose: additional consulting time to address specific fundraising needs, such as effectively communicating priorities and strategizing around donor prospects Objectives: build on skills developed in core training program to effectively engage donors; accelerate progress towards closing major gifts Topical workshops for fundraisers Purpose: Training on topics that require additional focus, such as challenges related to federal funding uncertainties, priority setting with partners, and multi-disciplinary fundraising strategies Objectives: Increased skills and confidence to navigate challenges unique to fundraising in academic medical centers In-depth training for fundraisers Purpose: Provide in-depth training focused on skill-building and competencies for major, principle, and planned gift fundraising Objectives: Understanding of a repeatable framework for the fundraising process to facilitate more effective donor interactions, ultimately leading to increased closed gifts In-depth training for fundraising managers Purpose: Provide fundraising managers with an in-depth training focused on coaching skills to increase team productivity Objectives: Enhanced team culture, collaboration, and morale; managers become more confident in their abilities as a mentor and coach Training refresh workshops for fundraisers Purpose: Provide workshops for all fundraisers to refresh what they learned in more intensive training programs Objectives: Ensure fundraising skills remain sharp; identify areas where additional internal or external training/coaching is needed
