1. Consult UMassD staff to gain an understanding of UMass Dartmouth’s research capacities with an appreciation for its integrated missions of research, education, and community engagement through periodic visits to the campus. Align all efforts to facilitate the attainment of the mission, vision, and strategic plan. 2. Facilitate active involvement for the selected respondent, and for UMass Dartmouth staff and faculty with federal agencies and organizations that are relevant to the needs and priorities of the UMassD. 3. In collaboration with the UMassD, develop a comprehensive strategic plan within three months of the start date of the Contract that outlines how the firm plans to expand the UMassD’s revenue associated with sponsored federal programs over the Contract term to meet its goals and objectives. The strategic plan shall be subject to review and approval by the UMassD. The UMassD, in its sole discretion, may request changes to the strategic plan during the term of the Contract. 4. During the term of the Contract, provide monthly executive updates that provide intelligence to enhance UMassD’s ability to meet its overall research objectives. Proactively provide information regarding funding and situations that may develop that need the attention of the UMassD. The reports are to minimally include mapping of key findings, the current status of overall goals as defined in the strategic plan, and issues and opportunities. Electronic data and analysis will be delivered in digital files. 5. Proactive outreach to the UMassD to address emerging situations that require a timely response. 6. Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the UMassD Committee, as identified by the Chancellor. 7. Assist as requested with writing, reviewing & editing of proposals prior to submission to the federal agencies in coordination with the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI). 8. Facilitate public-private research partnerships between UMassD and appropriate private sector companies. 9. Secure programmatic budget increases at various federal agencies, with a focus on the Department of Defense, to support the expansion of UMass Dartmouth’s research portfolio. 10. Selected respondent is responsible for filing all required regulatory disclosures related to its activities on behalf of UMassD.
