The Contractor shall provide the services of adequate and competent supervisory personnel and qualified underwater divers, experienced in working within sewage treatment plants, confined areas, and open bodies of water. The underwater work includes inspecting walls, sills, waterway structures, flushing and sluice gate seals, wet wells, suction chambers, coarse screens, sewage conduits and effluent conduits and performing repairs such as underwater welding, providing all filling/installing material (such as oakum/ropes, etc.) to seal leaks, removing debris, floor plate maintenance, and other related work. In addition, the Contractor shall perform underwater video recording, as ordered and directed by the Resident Engineer, on an asneeded basis. The Contractor shall supply an equipped crew consisting of one (1) diver, one (1) diver tender, and one (1) dive supervisor. The Contractor shall meet with the Resident Engineer, or his representative, prior to the dive to discuss the locations, scope of work, and the conditions of the dive. The Resident Engineer shall have the option of approving additional dive crew members such as, but not limited to, a diver and dive tender for assisting in the completion of the work, upon the Contractor’s request and dependent upon the scope of work. Each additional crew member shall be paid the hourly rate under Item 1 bid price.
