The Borough seeks an Attorney-at-Law licensed in New Jersey to provide legal counsel and representation in matters related to the Open Public Records Act (OPRA). The OPRA Attorney will provide guidance to the Borough on compliance with OPRA and represent the Borough in any related legal proceedings, including litigation before the Government Records Council (GRC) or other venues as necessary. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Providing legal advice and guidance to the Borough regarding responses to OPRA requests. • Representing the Borough in OPRA-related litigation or administrative proceedings. • Assisting the Municipal Clerk and other Borough staff, as appropriate, in interpreting and applying OPRA requirements. • Demonstrating prior experience and expertise in handling OPRA matters in submissions and proposals. The OPRA Attorney shall perform additional services as requested by the Mayor and Borough Council or the Borough Clerk, consistent with OPRA compliance and legal best practices.
