The proposed Sewer Project includes upgrades to the Town’s existing 2.0 MGD wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and Main Lift Station. The purpose of these upgrades is to modernize and extend the useful life of the targeted unit processes and the overall plant electrical and SCADA systems. At this time no overall plant capacity expansion is required; however, the new process facilities are to be designed for future capacity needs and/or provide practical, cost-effective solutions to accommodate future expansions. As follows is a summary of the anticipated scope of work: • Main Lift Station- (410 S. 4th Street) o Selective demolition of existing five dry pit pumps, controls and piping as appropriate. Existing emergency generator system to remain. o New duplex/triplex/quadplex, as appropriate, dry pit centrifugal pumps, with provisions for future pump(s). o Design firm capacity to match existing at 3,250 gpm, and provisions for future capacity of 4,090 gpm with force main and/or additional pump. o New electrical controls (eliminate sanitary vs. storm flow modes). o New flow meter(s) within existing structure if space allows. External vault prohibited. o Existing parallel 8” and 12” force mains to remain. • Boone Village Lift Station - (855 Starkey Road) o Selective demolition of existing pumps and interior process piping. Intent is to keep existing 12 ft. wetwell and construct new precast valve vault. o New triplex submersible pumps and piping. o Design firm capacity = 2,500 gpm. o Modify existing wetwell top slab/access hatches to suit new pumps. o New force main to New Headworks. Evaluate consolidating multiple lift station force mains (Boone Village, Main and Irishman’s Run) together to route to New Headworks. Number and size of force main(s) to be determined during preliminary design. o Eliminate existing backup self-priming emergency pump system. Existing control panel to be reused; confirm reuse of existing drives vs. new. • New Headworks – (855 Starkey Road) o Designed for up to 12 MGD future peak hydraulic capacity. o New influent force main(s) chamber, mechanical fine screens and screenings compaction, vortex grit removal, grit classification, primary treatment flow splitter, new two-level building and electrical controls. o Refer to preliminary design description/figures as presented in the 9/18/23 Study. o Odor control system not included in design. However, air handling system to be designed to allow for future addition of an odor control uni
