RADATION: Salt shall conform to the following particle size distribution specifications as determined by laboratory sieves per ASTM D632 (testing method is AASHTO T27 for gradation): Passing a 2" Sieve 100% Passing a 3/8" Sieve 95%-100% Passing a No.4 Sieve 20%-90% Passing a No. 8 Sieve 10%-60% Passing a No. 30 Sieve 0%- 15% MOISTURE REQUIREMENT: Moisture content shall be in a free-flowing condition when received at the delivery location with a moisture content not to exceed one percent (1%), in accordance with AASHTO T255. Material exceeding two and a half percent (2.5%) moisture content and/or evidence of free-flowing water/brine may be rejected and returned to the supplier at the expense of the supplier. Town Of Hartford reserves the right to reject all deliveries for the day. Visible moisture leakage from the delivery vehicle will be cause for immediate rejection of the load.
