Contractor duties for PBOT shall include: • Provide on-call crane and hauling services, as needed, for requested shop support to lift objects around Streetcar shop with prior scheduled notice. • Provide emergency crane and hauling services for the rerailing of derailed Streetcars, one end at a time, with lifting capabilities of 40,000 Ibs. using a 10' foot spreader bar and 20'+ foot cables or lifting ropes for a dual point (2) lift on side of Streetcar to place back into rail. • Provide emergency towing services capable of pulling an 84,000lb streetcar up a 7% grade. • Provide other lifting devices such as heavy-duty mobile lifting platform that can lift one end of a Streetcar for a lateral shift back into the rail in low clearance areas (under a bridge). • Emergency lifting capabilities of a Streetcar that has been tipped over on its side. Streetcar empty weight varies on types of Streetcars (between minimum empty; 62,000 Ibs., to maximum empty 84,000 Ibs.). • Consideration of Terrain for job performance: Emergency re-rail support could require lifting in the streets on paved flat track; on a bridge in ballasted track (OMSI viaduct); and under bridges where crane clearance is not possible and other types of equipment will need to be used to re-rail a Streetcar.
