The Consultant shall act on behalf of the City of Del Rio to advance its legislative and funding interests at both the state (e.g., Texas Legislature, State Agencies) and federal (e.g., U.S. Congress, Federal Agencies) levels of government. The services shall include, but are not limited to, the following: Legislative Advocacy and Representation A. Represent the Interests of the City of Del Rio by engaging with members of the Texas Legislature, U.S. Congress, state and federal agencies, the Offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, and other key officials and entities. The consultant must establish and maintain relationships with legislative committees, public officials, trade associations, and industry groups to influence policy outcomes in favor of the City. B. The consultant should assist the City of Del Rio in sponsoring and supporting legislation by securing sponsors for proposed bills or amendments aligned with the City’s legislative priorities. Monitor and advocate for the passage of legislation outlined in the City of Del Rio’s State and Federal Legislative Agendas C. Oppose Harmful Legislation Actively advocate against state or federal legislation identified by the City as detrimental to its interests. D. Continuously monitor legislative and regulatory Activity during state and federal legislative sessions, agency rulemakings, and interim activities. Consultant should also track relevant bills, administrative rules, and agency actions that may impact the City. E.
