The purpose of this procurement is to secure a 12-month lease of one (1) intraoral scanner with dedicated laptop, along with curriculum development, ongoing in-person training, and technical support for intraoral scanning and denture post-processing. This pilot program will allow Hawai’i Correctional Industries (HCI) to produce dentures for incarcerated individuals who would otherwise go without access to proper dental prosthetics. By addressing critical oral health needs, the program supports improved nutrition, clearer speech, and greater self-confidence – all of which are essential to physical well-being and successful reintegration. Restoring basic functions such as chewing and speaking not only improves daily quality of life, but also reduces stigma, builds dignity, and strengthens rehabilitation outcomes. Providing dentures to incarcerate individual aligns with HCI’s mission to create opportunities for rehabilitation while demonstrating the value of vocational training and meaningful services that directly impact the correctional community
