• Respond to calls for stray, loose, injured, or dangerous domestic animals (e.g., dogs and cats), including capture and transport. • Enforce city ordinances, including leash laws and rabies vaccination requirements (Springfield Code, Chapter [Insert Chapter if known]; 510 ILCS 5/8). • Conduct bite investigations and quarantine procedures per state law (510 ILCS 5/13). • Manage public safety risks, such as aggressive or vicious dogs, per 510 ILCS 5/15. • Appear in court or hearings as needed to support enforcement actions. 3.2 Shelter Services: • Respond to nuisance complaints involving wildlife or non-domestic animals (e.g., raccoons, skunks, opossums, feral cats) causing disturbances or safety concerns. • Provide humane trapping services for stray or nuisance animals on city properties, including parks, public facilities, and other designated areas, as needed to protect public safety or property.
