Task 1: Work with the Boxborough Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC): The Town of Boxborough is seeking a consultant to prepare a Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan that wholly complies with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), including modifications made by the ADA amendments of 2008. Any proposed modifications must also comply with the most current Architectural Access Board regulations. The Town intends to enter into a contract for professional services with an experienced and qualified consultant to provide these services. The Consultant will meet with the, and advise the Director of Public Facilities, ADA Coordinator and Commission on Disability on its best involvement in the process of producing an ADA Self Evaluation Report and ADA Transition Plan. Total Cost not to exceed $50,000 and must be fully invoiced no later than October 1, 2026. Task 2: Self-Assessment Survey: The Consultant shall create a Self-Assessment survey form and arrange to circulate it to each department head. The Consultant shall work with the Building and Grounds Team Leader, ADA Coordinator and Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee to review and evaluate the responses to the survey form. The survey shall ask for data on each department’s ADA compliance resources and needs, including: information on effective communication and physical accessibility of all departmental programs, services and activities as required by the ADA. Task 3: Building and Facility Surveys: The Consultant shall conduct building and facility surveys (referencing current ADA Accessibility Guidelines as mentioned in SCOPE OF SERVICES) of elements of Town owned or operated buildings and facilities that contain Town programs, services, or activities as identified in the survey. The purpose of the investigations is to identify all architectural barriers and barrier removal solutions and to establish an order of priorities.
