The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is soliciting quotes from qualified vendors for two center console boats and two trailers with all requirements and specifications stated herein. South Carolina Department of Natural Resources seeks two 17-foot boat models which will be utilized to travel to isolated coastal islands and other marine areas where seabirds and shorebirds are located for survey and assessment of nesting sites, migratory bird sites, and all activities involving the conservation of coastal birds. The boats will be operated at all tide heights and in all weather conditions throughout the year. All sites require anchoring. Additionally, the boats will be used to transport equipment such as posts and signs for managing bird nesting areas and equipment such as large nets and metal canons for trapping birds. Because of the boats’ potential to be operated continuously and during extreme and adverse weather conditions while ensuring biologist and public safety, all components of the boats must be constructed to the highest of marine standards.
