Charging System ● Provide and install an automatic battery charging system in each vehicle cab (Kussmaul EV-20 charger or approved equal) ● The system must support simultaneous charging of multiple battery banks with independent sensing, automatic operation, and overcharge protection. ● Input: 120 VAC nominal. ● Mount charger securely inside the vehicle cab in an accessible, ventilated area. ● Provide and install a weather-resistant automatic external power connector (Auto Eject or approved equal) mounted on the front fender. ● Connectors must automatically disconnect the power cord upon vehicle start-up. ● Include necessary wiring, fuses, labels, and strain relief per automotive standards. ● Provide visual charging status indicators for operator verification. External Power Connection ● Supply and install an automatic power connection interface (Auto Eject or approved equal) mounted on the front fender or other BFD-approved location. ● Interface must automatically disconnect the shore power cord upon vehicle start-up. ● Include weatherproof protective cover and strain relief. ● Wire the connector directly to the vehicle charging system using appropriate gauge wiring and fuse protection. Custom Storage System ● Provide and install a slide-out storage tray assembly in the rear cargo area of each vehicle — SlideMaster or approved equal. ● Trays shall be fabricated with custom dividers for SCBA units, turnout gear, and boards.
