These lawn care specifications are provided as a minimum guideline to attain the level of quality expected by the Bradley County Board of Education at each location. I. Mowing & Trimming 1. Mow all grass areas no less weekly, but not to exceed 35 cuts during the growing season (March – October) 2. String trimming around buildings, sidewalks, fencing, trees, light poles, and other obstructions shall be performed each mowing cycle. 3. Grass clippings shall not remain in clumps. Excessive clippings must be removed. II. Seasonal/Monthly Specifications A. Spring (March – May) 1. First mowing as soon as grass growth begins. 2. Apply pre-emergent weed control 3. Clear winter debris (branches, litter, leaves) from grounds 4. Trim ornamental grasses, shrubs, and low tree limbs under 8’ 5. Maintain clear access around sidewalks, parking lots, and building entrances B. Summer (June-August) 1. Maintain clear access around sidewalks, parking lots, and building entrances. 2. Control weeds in landscape beds, fence lines, and hardscape areas (monthly). C. Fall (September – October) 1. Leaf removal from grass and paved areas 2. Fall pruning of shrubs and hedges
