Analysis of fish and shellfish tissue samples for per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) via USEPA Draft Method 1633 (or equivalent), total polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) concentrations and congeners via EPA Method 1668A (or equivalent), Total Mercury via USEPA Method 1631B (or equivalent), selenium (via USEPA Method 200.8, Rev. 5.4, with sample preparation by SW-846 Method 3050B, or equivalent), and organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) via USEPA Method 1656A or SW-846 Method 8081 with extraction methods of 3540 or 3541, or equivalent. Submissions are due before November 26th, 2025. The primary responsibility of the laboratory is to provide PFAS, PCB, mercury, selenium, and OCP chemistry data for submitted fish and shellfish samples from the NJDEP’s routine fish tissue monitoring programs to support fish consumption advisory development. The laboratory will be asked to account for shipping, processing (filleting, homogenization, equalmass composites, if requested), certified chemistry analysis (if available), and reporting of data in a level II data package, as well as an MS Excel compatible format in their quote for this work.
