The FVEP is an educational, classroom based, cognitive behavior group intervention for individuals arrested and/or charged with a family violence crime(s). The FVEP curriculum consists of nine (9) 90-minute group sessions, delivered one (1) time per week. FVEP are closed group sessions, and each client is required to attend one (1) session per week for nine (9) weeks. Clients shall complete the nine (9) sessions in order to complete the program. These nine (9) sessions make up one (1) cycle of FVEP. There is one (1) make-up session at the end of nine (9) week period, for a total of ten (10) sessions, for clients who need to make up one absence. There is a minimum of seven (7) clients and a maximum of 22 clients per FVEP cycle. Cycles must be gender separate. Any exception to group sizes must be requested in writing and approved by JBCSSD contract monitor. There is no minimum number of clients to facilitate a make-up session. All FVEP sessions, including make-up sessions, shall be co-facilitated by a qualified team consisting of one female and one male facilitator. Same gender facilitators require written approval by JBCSSD Contract Monitor. Contractor shall be prepared to provide Spanish language cycles if/when the referral volume meets or exceeds the minimum group size.
