The successful applicant shall be a qualified municipal planner to provide professional and technical services to the Township on a project and on-call basis when the expertise of a licensed planner is required. Any experience or knowledge of matters directly affecting the Township should be addressed. A. General Criteria In the capacity of Municipal Planner the Applicant shall: i. Provide planning and technical advice on matters that arise related to the Township's general planning and land use. ii. Evaluate zoning codes at the request of the Township or as questions, issues or requested changes arise. The qualified candidate should be able to make recommendations based on the Township's Master Plan and draft ordinances for consideration of the Township Committee. iii. Continue to support, provide expertise and assist in negotiating the Township's fair share housing obligation before the courts. iv. Review planning board applications and produce reports for board members as requested. This work will be done generally through escrow provided by the applicants. Planning Board meetings are the first and third Wednesday of each month. The planner will only be required to attend on an as needed basis. v. Participate in the Township's informal technical review committee for potential commercial applicants. vi. Write ordinances for requested changes to the Township's zoning codes. vii. Assist Township staff in producing technical reports and making presentations to the public. Attendance at meetings as requested should also be expected.
