The Jersey City Board of Education (the Board) (JCPS) is soliciting competitive proposals for nutritious, well-balanced, and age-appropriate Vended Meals and related components for school food service as specified in this document and in accordance with the requirements of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) School Nutrition Programs and all applicable USDA regulations. Vendor will provide meals/meal components only, pre-packaged or pre-plated. Vendor will prepare, cook and package unitized meals, without milk, offsite at their own facility. The commercial vendor will provide services according to the USDA meal patterns, regulations and guidelines as well as the New Jersey Department of Agriculture policies and guidelines. Services will consist of preparing meals off-site at the commercial vendor facility and delivering meals including unitized prepackaged meals. This contract is to exclude milk.
