A. Work covered by Contract Documents: The Project consists of replacement of existing carpeting. Scope includes all related temporary protection work, removals and recycling, and cleaning of existing materials affected by the Work of this Contract. 1. The Work includes all trades required and all labor, equipment, materials, supervision necessary and incidental to the Work. a. Remove existing carpets and pads down to substrate. Remove all adhesive residue. 1) Level substrates (grinding or filling) and remove all existing remaining adhesives after removal of carpet under stipulated unit prices. 2) Additional carpet replacement scope areas as subsequently defined by Owner requiring carpet removal and leveling of substrates (grinding or filling) after removal of carpet shall be performed under stipulated unit prices. Carpet installation at these same additional scope areas shall be performed under stipulated unit prices. b. Install Owner-Furnished carpet and adhesives, as ‘direct glue down’ method of installation. c. Furnish and install transition strips where carpet meets adjoining flooring materials, and at changes in carpet types. d. Provide adhesive primers, adhesives, and miscellaneous carpet accessories as required to furnish a complete installation. e. Work includes all miscellaneous costs associated with completion of work in accordance with Contract Documents. f. The Work is intended to be performed during a defined closure period of the Hynes Convention Center, from However, without limitation, as may be necessary, the Work may be required to include scheduling with second and third shift work to meet the stringent requirements for Substantial Completion within the stipulated Contract Time, and shall incorporate all considerations for safety, Owner’s Event scheduling restrictions, Owner’s site access restrictions, and public emergency egress requirements. Required overtime, second and third shift work to perform the Work within the stipulated Contract Time are not grounds for any compensation claims to the Contractor or to any subcontractor.
