A. The Project consists of the construction of the following work: 1. The existing elevator shaft enclosure is to remain. Contractor shall infill, patch, and paint any abandoned or new penetrations to match adjacent surfaces, finishes, and colors. All penetrations must be fire sealed and fire stopped per UL assemblies to maintain the required fire ratings. 2. Demolition includes removal and proper disposal of existing elevator equipment and components as indicated in the plans and specifications. 3. Cut back and cap all associated electrical per applicable codes. Protect and retain specific components for reuse, including front car sill, cab shell, cab returns, jack assembly, car rails, spring buffers, roller guides, door gibs, fire tabs, and oil feed lines. 4. Clean and prepare existing lobby walls and entrance frames for new finishes.
