The Consultant shall provide Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to assist in the review of plans and documents for Field Plan Reviews. This work will include the following: A. Review of Construction Plans, Special Provisions, Environmental Documents and Permits, and Technical Reports for conformity to all applicable design standards and guidelines such as GDOT’s Design Policy Manual and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets. B. Provide meaningful marked-up plans in Bluebeam Revu Studio or hard copy plans and typed comments in Word as designated and scheduled by the Office of Roadway Design or Office of Design Policy and Support. Respond to questions regarding comments provided; however, the Consultant will NOT be responsible for conducting or attending the field plan reviews. C. Review of plans shall include the following content areas: 1) Review plans for consistency with approved concept reports and technical documents. 2) Review horizontal and vertical curves and superelevation rates for conformity to applicable design criteria. 3) Review typical sections for compliance with approved pavement designs and to ensure that typical roadway design features along the project are represented. 4) Review at grade intersections for conformity to applicable design guidelines. 5) Review cross sections for consistency with typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, construction limits, and specific roadway design features. 6) Review plans and identify any constructability issues, including, but not limited to, Maintenance of traffic, earthwork, structures, drainage, Staging, Staging Cross Sections, 3D Model high-level QA review, or erosion control.
