The proposed project consists of the construction of a new raw water pump station and intake, which will serve both the Town’s of North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro. The new raw water pump station will include a total of five (5) vertical turbine pumps, associated electrical and control equipment, intake wet-well, run-of-river intake screens with air burst cleaning system, intake piping, emergency generators, and pump station building. The proposed pump station will be located adjacent to the existing Town of Wilkesboro intake on the Yadkin River. The project will also include approximately 140-feet of 30-inch diameter raw water line for the Town of Wilkesboro and approximately 40-feet of 20-inch diameter raw water line for the Town of North Wilkesboro.
