The County of Monmouth owns approximately 264 acres of land located on Compton’s Creek at 10 Harbor Way in Middletown Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey which is identified on the Middletown tax map as Block 306, Lots 66, 171, and 172 (the “County Property”). An approximately 19 acre portion of the County Property is currently used as a ferry terminal (the “Ferry Terminal Property”) consisting of a ferry terminal building (the "Ferry Terminal Building") and the ferry terminal building site (the “Ferry Terminal Building Site”), waterfront elements for ferry operations (the “Marine Elements”), and a parking lot (the "Parking Facility"). The Ferry Terminal Building, Ferry Terminal Building Site, Marine Elements, and Parking Facility were constructed 2001-2002 and Belford Ferry operations began in November 2002. The Belford Ferry is an active site, and the current ferry operator provides ferry services between the Ferry Terminal Property and certain locations in the Borough of Manhattan in New York City and other destinations.
