The Contractor, under the direction of the Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) Division will: Develop guidance of best practices for the field on using the NMIS and MLSS supports in conjunction with HQIM implementation. ○ Expanded Statement: The contractor will develop comprehensive guidance on best practices for the field in effectively integrating the New Mexico Instructional Scope (NMIS) and the Multi-Layered System of Supports (MLSS) with High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM). This guidance should include practical tools, examples, and recommendations that help districts and schools align instruction, intervention, and instructional materials in a coherent system that supports equitable student learning outcomes across diverse contexts. The contractor will assist NMPED to recruit pilot districts. 1. Professional Development Kickoff Deliverable: One-day professional learning session for member districts Performance Metrics: ● Facilitate a one-day session that: ○ Provides project overview ○ Aligns academic initiatives ○ Sets goals for pilot districts around math achievement ● Session completion will be measured by participant attendance and activity completion 2. Communities of Practice Deliverable: Five - virtual community of practice meetings Performance Metrics: ● Coordinate and communicate meeting schedule ● Record and track attendance ● Focus on using NMIS through intellectual lesson planning to enhance HQIM and interventions ● Collect, review, and report on intellectual plans for grade-level alignment within two weeks of each session 3. Embedded Coaching Deliverable: Two embedded coaching visits per district Performance Metrics: ● Develop coaching schedule ● Focus visits on observation and calibration of grade-level instruction ● Provide post-visit reports to districts and NMPED 4. Strategic Planning Tool & Rubric for Instructional Coherence Deliverable: Comprehensive report, strategic planning tool, and observation rubric for instructional coherence Performance Metrics: ● Align school improvement initiatives with student outcomes (vertical spine) ● Provide a final report of embedded coaching sessions and strategic planning tool with observation rubric for district to align academic initiatives to improve math achievement as measured by the completion of the report, strategic planning tool and observation rubric.
