Construct a complete new 250,000-gallon (minimum usable volume) bolted glass-fused steel reservoir system including reinforced concrete foundation and appurtenances on a new tank site to be prepared by the Contractor. Residents in the area are currently served by an existing 87,000-gallon water tank, so no special water system shutdown process will be required. The tank-full elevation will closely match the existing tank-full elevation. The final submitted tank and foundation design from the tank supplier may require the bottom slab elevation to be slightly adjusted. Work shall include the complete tank, vent, interior inlet/outlet/overflow and drain piping, hatches, ladders, cages, personal fall arrest system, aluminum dome roof, telemetry system, tank pressure gage assumbly, and cathodic protection. The water tank site shall include perimeter security fencing and access gate as shown in the drawings. The tank design and foundation design will require close collaboration with the Engineer, Owner, and Geotechnical Engineer and the preliminary design and costs are to be included as part of the Contractor's bid. Excavation of the new water tank site will adhere to the geotechnical report and direction from the Geotechnical Engineer as work progresses. Tank site excavation will be performed in 3 distinct phases with approximately 1/3 of excavation being performed during each phase.
