The qualified vendor is responsible for providing timely and effective snow plowing services at Methow Valley State Airport, ensuring safe and accessible runways, taxiways, aprons, and related areas during winter months. Services must begin within 12 hours of snowfall exceeding two inches or upon request by WSDOT, with 24/7 availability throughout the snow season. The contractor must supply and maintain all necessary equipment suitable for snow removal on asphalt and gravel surfaces and ensure that operators are properly trained and familiar with airport layouts and priorities. Snow must be cleared without obstructing navigational aids, signage, or drainage systems, and only FAA- and WSDOT-approved de-icing materials may be used with prior approval. Environmental protection is required, including avoiding snow disposal in sensitive areas and reporting any leaks or hazards. The contractor must also maintain detailed service logs, respond to emergency call-outs, coordinate with WSDOT Aviation on operational needs, and comply with all relevant FAA and state regulations.
